It is perhaps needless to say that Barcelona have witnessed a major improvement in their performance compared to last season.
One key highlight of the Hansi Flick era so far is the way how each and every individual has stepped up and has tried to improve his tally from the last campaign.
The likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal are such examples of players, who have enjoyed a much better start to the season and are on track to beating last season’s tally.
Yamal’s stupendous start to the season
Yamal, for one, is closing in on his last season’s tally, thanks to a brilliant start to the season, where he has firmly established himself as one of the best wingers in La Liga.
Indeed, Yamal has scored four goals while mustering five assists, in just eight league matches so far this season.
The Spaniard’s youthful exuberance on the flanks, coupled with his ability to make darting passes forward has made him an indispensable figure in the Barcelona creative line.
At the same time, Yamal has been quite effective in front of goal, which is why he has been able to rack up four goals already.
To put things into perspective, Yamal scored a total of five goals in 37 league matches last season. He had also racked up five assists in as many games.
That means the young forward is set to match his last season’s tally shortly, as Barcelona gear up for their next league match against Alaves.
These numbers are indicative of not only Flick’s impact on the team, but also how Yamal himself has significantly improved his game throughout the summer.
Barcelona fans will hope the youngster can continue his terrific run of form and end up becoming one of the most productive players in Europe this season.
