Bayern Munich star excited for Hansi Flick reunion – ‘Will be very special’

Bayern Munich superstar Joshua Kimmich has stated that playing against Barcelona has always been a special feeling for him, but what makes Wednesday’s game more special is the presence of Hansi Flick.

It must be noted that Kimmich has been a hot topic in the transfer discussions surrounding FC Barcelona for the past two summers.

Despite the interest, he has chosen to remain with Bayern Munich, where he currently has a contract that runs until June 30, 2025.

This season might be pivotal for him, as it could potentially be his last with the Bavarian club if he decides to leave once his contract expires.

Barcelona could once again pursue him in the future, especially since he would be available on a free transfer.

Playing against Flick

Kimmich has the advantage of a solid working relationship with Hansi Flick, having been coached by him at both Bayern Munich and the German national team.

Together, they celebrated significant success, including winning six titles with Bayern, a feat that highlights Kimmich’s talent and experience.

Now, Kimmich has previously shared that playing against Barcelona is always a unique experience for him, and this match will be particularly special due to his connection with Flick.

“Playing against Barça is always something special, then against Hansi, of course, the reunion will also be very special,” said the German as quoted by SPORT.

Lewandowski vs Kane

Kimmich has also provided insights into the intriguing rivalry between Robert Lewandowski and Harry Kane.

He believes that while both players are incredibly talented, they possess different playing styles.

Kane tends to engage more in the overall game and is known for his passing ability, while Lewandowski is primarily focused on scoring goals, demonstrating his knack for finishing.

“They are two players who cannot be directly compared. Harry is someone who likes to get involved in the game more and who can sometimes give a pass out of ten.

“Lewy is more focused on scoring goals himself. They both help their team a lot with their style,” he added.
