Bergen County College professor kissed, groped female student, sheriff’s office says

Date:

Bergen Community College professor Zameer Baksh was suspended and faces criminal charges over allegations that he sexually assaulted a student, authorities said in a Saturday statement.

Baksh, who was employed by the college for the past six years, allegedly kissed the unnamed female student on the cheek and made “inappropriate comments” to her on Dec. 11, said the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.

He then “continued his assault by forcefully grabbing and touching her genitalia area,” authorities stated.

Baksh was not booked into the county jail over the incident, authorities stated, but he faces charges of “criminal sexual contact” and “harassment-offensive touching.”

Attorney information was not available Saturday evening. Baksh could not be reached via his LinkedIn profile, and the county college did not return a phone call Saturday evening seeking comment for this story.
