The Washington Commanders own the second pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which begins Thursday, April 25, 2024.
Overall, Washington has a plethora of first and second day picks to help improve their talent with six picks in the top 100 including one first-round choice at No. 2 overall, and two second-round selections.
The team will likely focus on a few priorities: securing a top quarterback, fixing its pass rush while improving its secondary and drafting new talent for their offensive line, which gave up the second most sacks in the NFL last year.
It seems a certainty that the Commanders general manager Adam Peters will use the number two overall selection to choose what they hope will be their long term answer at quarterback. With Caleb Williams almost a certainty to be selected by the Bears at number 1, the odds makers and gamblers are currently indicating that LSU QB Jayden Daniels will be the choice at number 2:

Daniels as the favorite at pick 2 is a change from early April, when odds showed Drake Maye as the Commanders’ likely selection.
