Borussia Dortmund’s next €100m prospect

After the sales of Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland the past couple of summers, Borussia Dortmund are looking for their next big superstar and Ruhr Nachrichten reports they are hopeful for two of the current squad members.

When he joined from Red Bull Salzburg, Karim Adeyemi was going to be Dortmund’s next big star, but his time at Signal Iduna Park has been underwhelming, to say the least. Internally, it was believed that Adeyemi would be the next player to attract bids of €100m from Europe’s elite but he has not lived up to the expectations.

Currently, Maximilian Beier is currently viewed as having the potential to be worth close to €100m. The forward has yet to get off the mark at Dortmund after joining from Hoffenheim in the summer but it is unknown how the 21-year-old could develop during his time at the club.

Jamie Gittens is another who could have the potential to follow in the footsteps of Bellingham and Jadon Sancho.

However, the player with the biggest potential is Julien Duranville. Despite making very few appearances due to injuries, Dortmund view the Belgian as the player with the most potential.

The 18-year-old has already made his debut for the senior Belgium national side while his potential at Dortmund was best seen in the do-or-die game against Mainz at the end of the 2022/23 season where he impressed in such a high-pressure situation.
