Aug. 28—Now we know: the Corley sisters, Ivana and Carmen, will play their first-round U.S. Open match sometime around 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday in New York.
The Corleys are going to be the second match up on Court 13 at the National Tennis Center. A men’s doubles match will be the first match of the day on that court, at 9 a.m. MDT.
The Corleys, who gained entry into this Grand Slam as a wild card, face the unseeded Russion duo of Ekaterina Alexandrova (doubles rank 71) and Anna Blinkova (DR 161). Ivana Corley is ranked No. 162, Carmen No. 163 in the latest WTA doubles rankings.
The Corleys, who played for Eldorado High and later the University of Oklahoma, turned pro in January of this year.
