Crystal Palace have completed the signing of NJ/NY Gotham FC forward Katie Stengel on a permanent deal.
The Eagles announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.
Stengel joins Crystal Palace after spending one season playing in the American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) with NJ/NY Gotham FC. She has signed a two-year deal with The Eagles.
The 32-year-old is a hugely experienced player having played in several top leagues across the globe. In her career to date, Stengel has played in America, Germany, Australia, Norway and England.
Prior to her time with NJ/NY Gotham FC, Stengel enjoyed an 18-month spell with Liverpool. The forward helped guide The Reds to the Barclays Women’s Championship title in 2021/2022 before netting nine goals in 21 outings in the top flight the following season.
Stengel is an out and out goalscorer and she will be hoping to help Crystal Palace make a successful transition into the Barclays Women’s Super League this season.
After joining Crystal Palace, Stengel said “It’s been a whirlwind, I’m very excited to be here. I loved the WSL when I was playing in England, so I’m just happy to be back and to get an opportunity.”
Stengel is Crystal Palace’s 13th signing of the summer transfer window.
