Elton John honoured by music’s biggest names

Date:

Some of the biggest names in music have come together to celebrate Elton John and his writing partner, Bernie Taupin.

The pair were honoured with the prestigious Gershwin Prize for Most Popular Song and it all took place at the library of Congress in Washington, DC, with Annie Lennox, Metallica and Brandi Carlile all taking to the stage to perform.

Charlie Puth also gave a stunning rendition of the pair’s hit song, Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me, which you can see in the video above.

A little closer to home now and Aussie celebs have stepped out for a big charity event in Sydney’s Woolloomooloo overnight.

Sony Foundation’s Wharf 4 Ward fundraiser brought together the biggest names in media, sport and music and they dug deep, raising $1.5 million for youth cancer patients and their families.

There were also a bunch of great performances, including a big show from Guy Sebastian who closed out the event.

And House of the Dragon fans are in for multiple treats this morning.

The show has released not one but two different looks for the upcoming second season.

They’re essentially duelling trailers for the green and black side, teasing a big war to come.

Season two will premiere on HBO Max June 16.

We also have some first look pictures of Jacob Elordi in his new series this morning.

It’s called The Narrow Road to the Deep North, an Australian drama filmed in New South Wales.

The show is set against the shadows of World War II and it follows a brief love affair that shapes Elordi’s character’s life.

It’s his first big role since Priscilla and Saltburn so we’re looking forward to seeing more of that on Prime Video soon.

Finally, Beyonce is up for a big honour at the iHeart Radio Awards next month.

She’ll be receiving the Innovator Award at the ceremony and it’s a big deal.

Previous winners include Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift, who took home last year’s award.

The ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre on April 1, just a couple of days after her new album drops.
