Date:

Despite a brilliant knock of 72 from 52 balls by England captain Harry Brook which helped the hosts reach a respectable total of 309 runs in 50 overs, they went down against their arch-rivals Australia as the reigning world champions won the match by 49 runs (D/L method) to clinch the series 3-2.

During Australia’s run chase, there were serious chances of rain early in their innings and they somehow needed to cross the par score within 20 overs to remain in an advantageous position in case of a rain interruption.
