Independent, low budget movies are not often seen in movie theaters nowadays. But they do survive on streaming platforms. A good example is THE LAST STOP IN YUMA COUNTY, a gripping crime thriller set in a roadside gas station and diner in the Arizona desert. A friend of the film’s first time feature director sold his house to finance the film. It was a good investment. This neo noir film boasts a clever plot with lots of tension and one good twist after another. And the excellent performers are mostly character actors who fit their roles perfectly. THE LAST STOP IN YUMA COUNTY was inspired by some of writer-director’s favorite filmmakers like Alfred Hitchcock, Quentin Tarantino, and the Coen brothers. It’s a creative and very entertaining 90 minutes. ($6.99 on Amazon, Apple TV Plus and Spectrum On Demand)
