Ex-Roma defender Pietro Vierchowod on Ranieri’s return: “He’s the right man.”

Former Roma defender Pietro Vierchowod shared his thoughts on the return of Claudio Ranieri to the club while attending the Mediolanum Padel Cup in Como.

Although the capital club are currently 12th in the table and on their third manager of the season, Vierchowod is optimistic about Ranieri’s ability to get the Giallorossi back on track.

“I hope the coach is the turning point because Roma needs to be a protagonist in this league,” he told Sky Sport.

“His arrival can bring calm to the environment and introduce a style of play—something I haven’t seen much of in recent months. With his experience and the results he’s achieved, even abroad, he’s the right man to recover from a poor start to the season.”

Ranieri’s first game back as Roma boss is set for next Sunday, when his team will face Napoli in the Derby del Sole.
