Fatal motorcycle and car crash in southwest Las Vegas valley leaves 1 dead

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A motorcycle and a car collided in the southwest Las Vegas valley on Saturday night, leading to one person’s death, according to police.

Around 6:30 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at the intersection of west Flamingo Road and Arville Street.

Police reported that evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated a 2012 Yamaha V-Star was traveling east on Flamingo when a 2004 Ford Expedition, heading west on Flamingo, entered its path.

LVMPD said the front of the Yamaha hit the right side of the Ford, resulting in the rider being ejected from the motorcycle.

Emergency medical personnel arrived and determined that the motorcycle rider had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said that the driver of the Ford remained on the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
