Fight Breaks Out During Kings Intersquad Game

Date:

It’s not uncommon for physical altercations to happen during training camp or even practice. It makes sense; there is a lot of intensity, and in this case, players want to win position battles.

However, it is uncommon for multiple altercations to happen on multiple days. That is what happened at yet another Los Angeles Kings training camp session.

Last time, it was Tanner Jeannot and Warren Foegele who got into it after a heated battle in the corner. They were later separated by Quinton Byfield, and cooler heads prevailed.

This time, in an intersquad game Samuel Helenius and Jeff Malott dropped the gloves and went toe-to-toe.

Thankfully, no one appeared to be hurt, and players on both teams seemed thrilled to see two young players giving it their all. It’ll be interesting to see how many more times this happens at the Kings training camp.

This does beg the question, though: is this a direct result of the players that the organization brought in this off-season? Or is it the intensity of the new head coach, Jim Hiller, and how he runs his training camp?

Either way, this is exciting to watch as a fan of the LA Kings!
