Fitness expo in Hagerstown hopes to promote health, wellness

Date:

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (DC News Now) — In western Maryland this weekend there will be a Health, Wellness & Fitness Expo at Hagerstown’s University Plaza.

The expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is focused on homebound seniors.

It will be hosted by Slam the Weight at Meritus Hospital and the Washington County Health Department at North Potomac Street.

Barbara Jones, event organizer for Slam the Weight, said they want to show people that fitness can be fun.

“We also want them to have information and resources available in the community,” Jones said. “I am hopeful we’ll have a lot of people out to enjoy fitness in a fun way.”

There will also be tables at the expo for easy access to resources for veterans to get into a routine for working out.
