Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi spoke to Il Tempo about Daniele De Rossi’s dismissal and Ivan Juric’s appointment.
In an interview with the Roman newspaper, the French executive detailed Roma’s decision-making process.
“I understand the fans’ reaction, Daniele is a legend of Roma,” said Ghisolfi who joined the Giallorossi in June.
“The decision to fire him was painful for us. If a coach fails, I am affected too,” he added.
“I thank him because he welcomed me with open arms, I am sure he will have a great career.”
“Juric? When deciding who to appoint next we looked for continuity; Juric knows Serie A and the players on the team.”
“He immediately showed himself enthusiastic about coming, without discussing contract duration or salary. I believe he has the qualities to bring Roma back to the Champions League.”
“The Friedkins? This summer we managed not to sell top players, that was their goal. We want to enter the new stadium with important players. The Friedkins only want the best for the club.”
