Four-star 2025 forward Brooklyn Stewart commits to Oklahoma women’s basketball

Date:

The OU Women’s Basketball program just got a bit better.

According to 247Sports National basketball recruiting analyst Dushawn London, 6-foot-2 forward Brooklyn Stewart committed to the Sooners on Wednesday evening. She chose Oklahoma over Utah, Virginia Tech, Texas Tech among others.

Oklahoma head coach Jennie Baranczyk and her staff secure more talent with the lanky power forward out of Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Just this past month, 247Sports released its inaugural women’s basketball rankings and Stewart was labeled as a four-star recruit.

As for the 247Sports Network’s specific rankings, our panel of national experts label Stewart as the No. 58 overall recruit in the 2025 recruiting class. The four-star also rates as the No. 13 power forward nationally and the No. 3 player in the state of Colorado.

After seeing Stewart on the court in July, 247Sports Director of Women’s Basketball scouting, Brandon Clay wrote about her talent:

“Stewart served as a fantastic counterpart to classmate Sienna Betts on a loaded Hardwood Elite roster in the 3SSB Circuit. Stewart, who also excels in volleyball, is a four-star prospect in the frontcourt. She can run the floor, rebound, and defend at a high level as she progresses to the collegiate level. Stewart is also willing to take the 15-foot jump shot. This combination makes it difficult for big players to guard her, while wings will struggle with the length difference.”

Stewart was dominant during her outings of the 3SSB Circuit and was consistently a standout player. In the 3SSB Championships, she finished with 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting.

Stewart joins four-star Bethany (OK.) High School guard Keziah Lofton as the Sooners’ two commits in the 2025 class. Lofton is a 5-foot-11 guard, who led Bethany to back-to-back Class 4A state championships. Before her arrival, the Bronchos hadn’t reached the state tournament. This past season, Lofton averaged 18.8 points and six rebounds per game alongside new Oklahoma player Zya Vann.

The other talent the Sooners are going after in the 2025 class include Oklahoma’s Gatorade Player of the Year Keeley Parks, Jaliya Davis (the daughter of a former Sooners, Williams Davis), Aaliyah Chavez and Aubrey Shaw. The Sooners also have targets in a few other classes
