France national team coach, Didier Deschamps, spoke at a press conference ahead of the upcoming Nations League fixtures and commented on Roma’s new midfielder, Manu Koné, who received his first call-up to the senior national team.
“Although he has had a few injuries that have slowed his progress, in terms of presence, volume, ability to organise play, and moving forward, he is one of the best French midfielders, even though there are many players for these positions,” Deschamps said.
Adding, “It’s up to him to make the most of this camp and be as effective as possible.”
Kone completed a transfer switch to the Giallorossi from Borussia Mönchengladbach last week for a reported €20 million—penning a five-year contract with the capital club.
