Here are the latest Giants injury updates as they prepare for their Week 5 matchup against the Seahawks in Seattle…
Malik Nabers is in concussion protocol
Nabers suffered a concussion during the fourth quarter of last Thursday’s loss to the Cowboys, but seemed to be in a somewhat decent spot to return for Week 5 given the long layoff.
However, Nabers is still in the “early stages” of concussion protocol, head coach Brian Daboll said on Wednesday.
That doesn’t mean Nabers won’t be available against Seattle on Sunday, but there are just two days left of practice — with Nabers not having done any football activity since leaving Thursday’s game.
If Nabers is unavailable against the Seahawks, it’s likely that Jalin Hyatt will see his workload increase.
Hyatt has just three targets (and zero receptions) this season.
Devin Singletary has a groin issue
Singletary wasn’t practicing on Wednesday, but Daboll said that the running back ran on Monday.
Daboll added that he didn’t believe that Singletary’s groin injury would be a long-term issue.
Dru Phillips and Adoree’ Jackson remain out
The Giants’ secondary remains shorthanded.
Phillips, who played in the Giants’ first three games and had a terrific showing in Week 2 against the Commanders — with 12 total tackles, including seven solo — remains out due to a calf injury.
Jackson, who signed late during training camp and was active for the first three games of the season, is also dealing with a calf issue and is not yet back at practice.
