Sarah Niemiec, Alaina Burke and Olivia Kogan swept the singles matches in a 5-0 win over North Pocono on Wednesday in a Lackawanna League girls tennis match between teams jockeying for seeding in the District 2 Class 3A power rating standings.
Wallenpaupack and North Pocono are now 6-3 with five matches remaining.
At Valley View, Delaware Valley beat Valley View, 4-1. Noelle Holderith, Jessica Willson and Ceena Williams won singles matches for the Lady Warriors, who won their sixth match in a row and improved to 8-1. Valley View fell to 6-3.
At Mid Valley, Zarina Mustafina, Katie Fahey and Julia Farkaly won singles matches to lead West Scranton to a 5-0 win. The Lady Invaders are also involved in the tight playoff seeding chase in Class 3A with an 8-1 record in the league and 10-1 overall.
At Riverside, Scranton Prep remained undefeated with a 5-0 win over Riverside. Lily Lengyel, Alyssa Wigley and Emma Cuck won in straight sets for the unbeaten Classics.
At Dunmore, Hannah Pisarcik, Sadie Pappas and Molly Urban won singles matches in a 5-0 win over Dunmore.
At Montrose, Cara Evans, Erin Tillotson and Harleigh Smith won singles matches to lead the Lady Meteors past Scranton, 5-0.
At Honesdale, Morgan Wendall, Alexis Mazzotta and Casey Morton had singles wins in a 5-0 win over Western Wayne.
