Lecce could face disciplinary action after Matteo Guendouzi showed a rock that had been thrown at him by fans when celebrating Lazio’s winner at the Stadio Via del Mare.
The incident occurred at the 88th minute, after Adam Marusic had volleyed in to give the Aquile a 2-1 victory against 10 men.
Marusic and his teammates ran over to the area where the away supporters were gathered and celebrated along with them.
Lazio threatened during celebration
However, when returning to the pitch, Guendouzi picked up an object that he said had been thrown at him from the Lecce fans.
The France international held it up for all to see before handing over to the fourth official and it appeared to be a lump of rock or concrete.
It sparked tension on the touchline, as Lecce felt that Guendouzi was time-wasting by walking back very slowly with the item, while the player was understandably furious that this dangerous rock had been thrown at him.
Fortunately, it did not strike any of the players.
