Hoover’s high-scoring duo keeps on ranking in the honors.
DeWayne Brown and Salim London were two of 100 players ranked in ESPN’s updated high school basketball recruiting rankings, which were announced this week.
Brown ranked 66th in the national class of 2025 rankings, while London sat at 91st; the two were the only players from the state of Alabama included in the 2025 rankings.
Brown, a Tennessee commit, was named Class 7A Player of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association after helping lead Hoover to its second straight state title. He averaged 15.5 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2 assists per game for the Bucs last season, totaling 87 blocked shots.
London was named to the first team-all state team in Class 7A alongside Brown, finishing his junior campaign averaging 17.5 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game.
The senior has earned offers from programs that include Alabama and James Madison.
Reigning Mr. Basketball Caleb Holt, who transferred to Grayson (Ga.), is ranked at No. 3 in the 2026 rankings. The former Buckhorn star helped lead the Bucks to their second straight 6A title, averaged 20.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
Holt was also No. 10 in the overall rankings regardless of classification.
Former J.A.G. standout and Mississippi State commit Ladarius Givan, who transferred to John Marshall High School (Va.), is ranked 58th in the 2026 rankings.
