Barcelona will be aiming to make it four wins in four games in La Liga when they take on Real Valladolid later this week.
With injuries rocking them early in the season, Barcelona have done well to grab all nine points from their three matches so far.
And, heading into this weekend’s encounter the Blaugrana seem to have received an injury boost.
Indeed, according to SPORT, defender Eric Garcia is back in training and participated in today’s sessions with his teammates ahead of Barcelona’s La Liga clash against Real Valladolid.
Garcia, who participated in the first two league matches this season, was left out of the squad for the trip to Rayo Vallecano, with Barcelona confirming that he was sidelined due to plantar fasciitis.
Three days later, though, the former Manchester City man stepped onto the pitch at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper alongside his teammates.
Intriguingly, though, Garcia’s absence came at a time when he was linked with a move to Girona.
As reported last night, Hansi Flick has closed the doors on Garcia’s potential departure because he values his versatility and sees him as an option for the pivot position where Barcelona are short on numbers following Marc Bernal’s injury.
Everything suggests that Garcia will not be leaving for Girona on deadline day, like he did last year, but only time will tell if he will be ready to return to action against Valladolid tomorrow.
While Garcia might be back, Barcelona are still without as many as six players, with Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Ansu Fati, and Bernal all out injured.
