Inter Milan & Italy Star Admits: ‘I’m Sorry To Score Against Parma’ After Serie A Goal Vs Former Side

Inter Milan’s Federico Dimarco admits that he’s “sorry” to have scored against his old team Parma in this evening’s 3-1 Serie A win.

Dimarco spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, after the match. He also emphasized that Inter can’t get ahead of themselves as far as the Club World Cup.

Dimarco scored his second goal of the season in Serie A this evening.

The 27-year-old had a great touch and a better finish to score at the end of a flowing team move. This was a crucial goal for Inter, as it broke the deadlock and gave them an advantage to build on.

In the end, the Nerazzurri won the match by a scoreline of 3-1.

But for Dimarco, it is natural that it would be a bittersweet goal.

Parma are an important team in the context of the Inter wingback’s career. They were the side with whom he really broke into Serie A.

Ironically, Dimarco’s first ever goal in the Italian top flight came for the Gialloblu against his parent club Inter.

Dimarco noted that “We can say that the same thing that happened in 2018 [when he scored against Inter] happened, but in reverse.”

“I’m sorry to have scored against Parma,” the Italian international continued.

“I still feel an attachment to that team.”

“But the important thing was for the team to win,” Dimarco emphasized.

And of the match as a whole, Dimarco said that “It was difficult right from the start.”

“We conceded a few counterattacks,” the 27-year-old noted. “But in the end we were deserving of the win.”

Meanwhile, Dimarco gave his thoughts on Inter’s participation in the Club World Cup next summer. “We play one match at a time,” he made clear.

“I don’t like to make predictions.”

“Each objective is important for us,” Dimarco said. “But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves – otherwise we’ll start dropping points along the way.”
