Inzaghi: ‘Everyone at Inter has to feel like a starter’

Simone Inzaghi insists that ‘everyone has to feel like a starter’ at Inter as he makes seven changes to his line-up for Wednesday evening’s Champions League league phase game away against Young Boys in Switzerland.

Inter will play Juventus in an already decisive Derby d’Italia in Serie A on Sunday, and with that in mind, there is no Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez, Federico Dimarco or Alessandro Bastoni in the line-up for the Young Boys game.

Inzaghi insists that he has done the right thing given his side’s schedule over the Autumn period.

Inzaghi defends heavily rotated Inter side

“We have changed the right amount,” he told Amazon Prime prior to kick-off on Wednesday evening.

“There will be some changes. Everyone has to feel like a starter and that they are involved in our project.”

Tonight’s game will be played on an artificial pitch, which has become a bit of a talking point for Nerazzurri supporters ahead of kick-off. Inzaghi included that factor in his list of minor inconveniences he has encountered over the last few days.

“I’m feeling good, we’ve just come off four consecutive victories, we’ve had some issues, not forced changes, the artificial pitch, but we’re here to play a proper Inter game.”

Kick-off between is due at 20.00 BST. Join us for all the coverage on the Football Italia LIVEBLOG.
