Mehdi Taremi will start in attack for Inter Milan in this evening’s Supercoppa Italiana final against AC Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Marcus Thuram and Joaquin Correa will be on the bench.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has a bit of a decision to make in attack this evening.
There’s no doubt that captain Lautaro Martinez will start.
But there’s a question of who will lead the line alongside the Argentine.
Martinez’s usual strike partner Thuram picked up a minor injury in the Supercoppa semifinal against Atalanta.
That injury, a slight elongation to his left adductor muscles, forced him off at halftime.
But Thuram has returned to fitness. He will be available on the bench in the final against Milan this evening.

Apart from Thuram, there are the likes of Mehdi Taremi and Joaquin Correa.
Iranian international Taremi is the player who replaced Thuram for the second half of the semifinal against Atalanta.
Correa has also been vying for a start. The Argentine has looked bright in recent training session.
However, the Gazzetta reports, Correa has not quite looked sharp in the last day or two.
Therefore, the 30-year-old former Lazio and Sevilla forward will be on the bench.
That will mean that Taremi gets the chance to start this evening.
