It’s looking more and more like Mike Woodson will suffer another major miss in the high school class of 2025.
5-star point guard Mikel Brown, Jr. is clearly trending towards Louisville.
On3’s two top national basketball recruiting analysts — Joe Tipton and Jamie Shaw — have made public predictions this week on Brown’s profile page that he will end up at Louisville. 247Sports national reporter Travis Branham is making the same call.
And these picks are coming very soon after Brown completed an official visit at Louisville.
Brown had clear interest in Indiana. He went on an official visit to Bloomington in September. And he told The Daily Hoosier over the summer he would be watching IU this season to see how their guards were utilized.
But now Indiana could be at risk for not landing a high school senior guard in a second straight class.
IU currently has one commit in the 2025 class — in-state forward Trent Sisley.
With Brown seemingly off the board, the Hoosiers seem to be down to 7-foot center Leo Curtis as their primary remaining target in the senior class. He just completed an official visit over the last few days.
They’ve also tried to make inroads with 5-star class of 2025 forward Nate Ament. But as we’ve written here multiple times, Ament is a longshot pursuit for the Hoosiers unless or until he schedules an official visit to Indiana.
