———————————————————————–
SECOND HALF
Indiana up 76-49 with 4:40 left in the game.
- Carlyle getting some minutes late in the second half for Indiana. 0-5 from the field so far today.
7:58 left in the game, and the Hoosiers lead 72-48.
- Tale of two halves here in Assembly Hall. Hoosiers have had their way with the Panthers, outscoring them 36-11 in the second half.
- Jakai Newton has checked in for the first time in a regular season game for Indiana. No production yet, but has only been in for a few seconds.
Indiana’s run has increased to 22-2. 60-45 Hoosiers with 11:49 left.
- Indiana’s defense has looked really solid in this half. They’re holding the Panthers to 21 percent from the field in this half.
- Reneau has had a nice second half so far. Nine points in the half, 17 total.
Indiana has a 16-2 run going since the start of the half. They lead 54-45 with 14:09.
- Mgbako once again leading Indiana with 16 points. Seven early points for him in this half.
Indiana leads 47-43 with 16:31 left in the half.

HALFTIME
Indiana 36, Eastern Illinois 37
FIRST HALF
Final media timeout and Indiana leads 30-29 with 3:46 left in the half.
- Credit to the Panthers; they have been hitting their shots. Indiana has nearly forced two shot clock violations, and Eastern Illinois made a last-second shot both times. I still haven’t seen anything from Indiana’s defense that looks drastically wrong.
Indiana with a 7-0 run to lead 27-20 with 8:32 left in the first half.
- Trey Galloway checks in and immediately makes an impact. Two points, three assists, and a rebound in two minutes played.
- Hoosiers going with another small lineup. Langdon Hatton is playing as the big with Galloway, Cupps, Tucker, and Goode.
All square at 18 as we head into another media timeout. 11:55 left in the first half.
- Still, I haven’t been displeased with Indiana’s perimeter defense so far. Panthers are 4-6 from beyond the arc, but nearly all have been heavily contested.
- Kanaan Carlyle has been scoreless so far during Indiana’s regular season. The Hoosiers will need him to start producing on offense. Defensively, however, he’s been very impressive.
At the first media timeout, Indiana leads 9-8 with 15:50 to go in the first half.
- Mgbako once again with a nice start. He’s got five points. Reneau and Ballo each with two.
- Eastern Illinois has knocked down a few threes, but the Hoosiers are getting good closeouts. Nothing alarming on the defensive side yet.
PREGAME NOTES
No changes to the starting lineup for Indiana: Rice, Carlyle, Mgbako, Reneau, Ballo

Anthony Leal remains out for Indiana with an injury. Oumar Ballo was listed as questionable before the game, but is in uniform and warming up.
