Speaking at his pre-match press conference (via @iMiaSanMia) ahead of Bayern Munich’s game vs VfB Stuttgart, head coach Vincent Kompany has provided an update on Jamal Musiala.
Musiala had missed the October international break due to a hip injury he had suffered in Bayern’s game against Bayer Leverkusen which caused him to only play 45 minutes against Aston Villa and miss the game against Eintracht Frankfurt just before the international break. So far, the 21-year-old has three goals and two assists in eight games.
On the fitness situation of the squad, Kompany said:
“Jamal Musiala won’t be available tomorrow. With Upa, we still have to wait. Otherwise, everyone has come back fit from the international break”
Musiala’s replacement will likely be Thomas Müller, who deputised for the 21-year-old just before the international break, but with Leroy Sané nearly back to full fitness, there could be some moving around behind Harry Kane.
Dayot Upamecano is also a doubt as he picked up an injury in the latter stages of Bayern’s draw with Frankfurt which also caused him to miss the international break for France. The 25-year-old returned to full team training yesterday.
