Jamie Cavey-Lang, a former Iowa women’s basketball player and radio analyst, dies at 41

Former Iowa women’s basketball player and radio analyst Jamie Cavey-Lang died Saturday after a battle with cancer.

Cavey-Lang, 41, stepped away from her analysis duties after the 2022-23 season. She had been a part of the radio team since the beginning of 2016-17.

Cavey-Lang played at Iowa from 2001-05 and was a part of four postseason squads. She graduated from North Cedar High School.

She finished her Hawkeye career with 1,265 points (27th in program history) and 506 rebounds. Cavey-Lang was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and two-time All-Big Ten selection.

She earned her master’s degree in higher education from Iowa, was a career advisor at the university and served on the Presidential Committee on Athletes for several years.

Cavey-Lang is survived by her husband Mike and children Vincent, Bennett and Sydney.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at The Celebration Farm in Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Solon.
