We wouldn’t read too much into Jared McCain’s starting for the Philadelphia 76ers Saturday night. It was probably a combination of resting their starters and letting their deep bench get some time in, and obviously it’s an exhibition. Still, it was an opportunity to make an impression, and that’s just what McCain did.
He hit for 20 points in Philly’s 139-89 loss at Boston and hit 9-21. He hit just 1-8 from behind the line but Boston’s backcourt is outstanding on defense and they no doubt were ready to school a rookie.
Still, as you’ll see from the links listed below, McCain continues to impress in his rookie season.
