Jasper Johnson excited to play with Malachi Moreno

Date:

The Kentucky Wildcats have stacked a pair of commitments in the class of 2025 in 5-star guard Jasper Johnson and 4-star center Malachi Moreno. What makes that even better is that the duo is both from the Bluegrass, adding to the list of Kentucky players who have rocked the blue and white over the last several seasons.

Obviously, the two top-30 recruits are familiar with each other’s game, as Johnson and Moreno have faced off plenty to this point in their careers, but now they are excited to team up.

When asked about Moreno’s commitment and whether it influenced his choice, Johnson had this to say:

“That’s definitely a plus for sure. I know how good he (Moreno) is and how much of a force he is down low. Adding him to the team and to our roster for next year is a good thing.”

Johnson did add that Moreno’s commitment didn’t really push the former to pick Kentucky.

“I wouldn’t say it gave me a push. I was definitely happy for him. I’ve seen him grow up and develop since we were young little kids,” said Johnson. “Seeing him commit, I was definitely happy for him, but I’m just happy we started off the roster. We’re going to get started next year.”

The talented duo has now kicked off the first full high school class for Mark Pope and his new staff. To be honest, there probably couldn’t have been a better beginning to this class for the BBN.

Now, let’s see if they can get some of these other top recruits to join them.
