Jay Shah announces fixed fee for IPL players

“This is a new era for the IPL and our players!” Shah wrote on X (formerly Twitter), where he made the announcement.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah, on September 28 (Saturday), announced a fixed fee for all the players in the Indian Premier League (IPL). According to the new structure, every player will receive a fee of INR 7.5 lakh per game. Furthermore, a cricketer who plays all the league matches will receive an additional INR 1.05 crore. The new structure is expected to come into play from IPL 2025.

Moreover, every franchise will be will be given INR 12.60 crore as match fees for the season “This is a new era for the #IPL and our players!” Shah wrote on X (formerly Twitter), where he made the announcement.

“In a historic move to celebrate consistency and champion outstanding performances in the #IPL, we are thrilled to introduce a match fee of INR 7.5 lakhs per game for our cricketers! A cricketer playing all league matches in a season will get Rs. 1.05 crores in addition to his contracted amount,” he wrote.

“Each franchise will allocate INR 12.60 crores as match fees for the season!”

Shah has experienced plenty of ups and downs since taking over as the BCCI secretary in 2019. His excellent work during his tenure has seen him elevated to the ICC chair post, which he will occupy from December 1 onwards.
