Kansas State basketball player cited for possession of marijuana

Kansas State basketball player Macaleab Rich was cited Tuesday for possession of marijuana and for driving without proof of motor vehicle liability.

According to Riley County police’s daily citation report, Rich, a 6-foot-7 sophomore forward from East St. Louis, Illinois, both citations were issued at the corner of Claflin Road and Sunset Avenue in Manhattan at approximately 11:48 a.m.

Rich, who played sparingly as a freshman for the Wildcats last season for coach Jerome Tang, from that team that went 19-15 and lost to Iowa in the first round of National Invitation Tournament. Rich appeared in 16 games as a reserve, averaging 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds with season highs of 13 points against Central Arkansas and nine rebounds vs. Nebraska.

K-State will feature a revamped roster for Tang’s third season with only forwards David N’Guessan, Taj Manning and Rich back from a year ago. The Wildcats open against New Orleans on Nov. 5 at Bramlage Coliseum.
