The land of the reigning T20 World Cup winners is no short of T20 tournaments. After numerous domestic leagues in states throughout India, Kerala adds itself to the long list.
The Kerala Cricket League (KCL) is the newest T20 league to be born in India after Madhya Pradesh (MP) T20 League and Uttar Pradesh (UP) T20 League had their inaugural seasons very recently.
A total of six franchises will compete in the first year of the tournament. Each team will play the other five teams twice during the round-robin stage. The top four teams will qualify for the knockouts (semi-finals).

The winners of the two semi-finals will play each other in the grand final. Six teams from six different locations in the state are set to contest for the maiden crown in the Kerala Cricket League.
