The Knicks have signed guard Boo Buie to an Exhibit 10 contract, the team announced on Monday night.
Buie, 24, played with the Phoenix Suns in the Summer League in Las Vegas and averaged 9.0 points, 2.0 assists and 1.4 rebounds in over 21 minutes over five games.
The 6-foot-2 guard went undrafted out of Northwestern University after he led the Wildcats to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments for the first time in program history.
Last season, his fifth in college, Buie averaged 18.9 points (on 44.1 percent shooting and 43.1 percent from three), 5.2 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 36.6 minutes per game with 31 starts. And earned the Lefty Driesell Defensive Player of the Year award.
He left the school as the program’s all-time leading scorer (2,187 points). Buie, an Albany, NY native, earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors in each of the last two seasons.
In total during his time with the Big Ten school, Buie averaged 14.6 points, 4.2 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 31 minutes over 146 games (125 starts).
