Abbas, who was known as batting machine, has become first cricketer to join BoG after a long time
LAHORE (Web Desk) – Veteran former cricketer Zaheer Abbas has been included into the Board of Governors of the Pakistan Cricket Board as a nominee of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), reports said.
Abbas, who was known as batting machine, has become the first cricketer to join the BoG after a long time.
State Bank had earlier picked Meraj Mahmood for the position before it recommended the name of the legendary cricketer.
The BoG is the board’s premier decision-making body which includes four members from the 16 regional cricket associations and four from affiliated departments.
It also include chief secretary Punjab, cabinet division secretary and three nominees of the prime minister.
Previously, the board announced the composition of Board of Governors in January this year in accordance with Paragraph 10 of the PCB Constitution 2014.
