Manchester City have today confirmed that Rodri suffered a ligament injury to his right knee during their 2-all draw with Arsenal on Sunday. The champions made an announcement on Rodri’s injury earlier today on mancity.com.
The club has further reported that Rodri has travelled to Spain to seek specialist consultation on the injury. He travelled to Spain after having initial tests for the injury in Manchester after Sunday’s match.
We can confirm that Rodri has suffered a ligament injury to his right knee.

Manchester City made it clear that the extent of Rodri’s injury is currently unknown. Furthermore, City added that assessment on Rodri’s injury is ongoing to ascertain the severity of the injury and the expected prognosis.
Speaking after Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Watford last night Pep Guardiola told the media that there have been different assessments on Rodri’s injury. He told the media: “One doctor said it’s a big, big injury… the other said not as much, so we’ll see. Now it’s important to support him. Safe recovery, I would say not even a speedy recovery. Safe recovery for his future, for his career.“
