How ‘bout them Kentucky Wildcats?!
Mark Pope and the Cats took care of business against the undefeated Florida Gators inside Rupp Arena on Saturday, coming away with a thrilling 106-100 win.
The Cats badly needed this after the Ohio State setback and looked fantastic to open up SEC play.
One underrated money was Kentucky native Travis Perry hitting a big 3 against the Gators in a big moment in the second half.
After the game, head coach Mark Pope made some exciting comments about Perry.
“That’s a little preview of what’s to come. He, Trent Noah, and Collin Chandler are getting better every day. He was +8. That’s hard to do in limited minutes,” said Pope.
Perry logged almost eight minutes of playing time against Florida while notching three points, one assist, and a +/- of +8.
The Kentucky native has upped his playing time after the Cats lost Kerr Kriisa earlier this season, and stepping up in his brief moments like this bodes well for the rest of his freshman season.
The Cats are back in action on Tuesday night against the Georgia Bulldogs, and fans should be excited after tipping off SEC play in a massive way.
