Several Manchester United fans have complained about Scott McTominay’s sale to Napoli, but the Scotland international is only focused on his new club: ‘I just want to do everything in my powers to push my team higher up the table.’
The Scottish midfielder completed a permanent €30m move to the Stadio Maradona in August.
McTominay uninterested in Man Utd fans’ comments: ‘No reason to pay attention…’
The Red Devils’ decision left fans disappointed as they thought McTominay represented the qualities they still needed.
“I don’t read the newspapers or social media,” the Scotland international told The Times.
“That’s something I stay well away from. There’s no reason for me to pay attention to that. The past is the past. I’m enjoying my football and just want to do everything in my powers to push my team higher up the table and do my best for my manager in Italy as well.”
McTominay added that leaving Old Trafford for the Stadio Maradona was a “big decision.”
The 27-year-old has three goals and two assists in 10 appearances under Antonio Conte this term.
