• Saint Joseph’s opens its 2024-25 season on Monday, November 4 as the Hawks host Navy at 7 p.m. in an ESPN+ streamed broadcast.
• Monday’s contest marks just the seventh meeting between the Hawks and Midshipmen, and first since the two competed in the 1959 NCAA Tournament East Regional Third Place game.
• The Hawks enter Monday’s meeting with a 1-5 all-time record against the Midshipmen; below are the results of the previous six contests.

• Saint Joseph’s is 85-28 all-time in season-opening contests.
• Under head coach Billy Lange, the Hawks have gone 3-2 in season openers, including an 81-60 victory over Lafayette in last year’s season-opening game.
• Lange served as head coach at Navy from 2004 until 2011, amassing 93 victories and garnering 2008 Patriot League Coach of the Year accolades.
• Saint Joseph’s has been picked to finish third in the Atlantic 10’s preseason poll, receiving 376 points, including five first place votes.
• The Hawks earned their highest A-10 preseason poll prediction since 2007-08 when they were also selected to finish third.
• St. Joe’s returns seven letterwinners, including three starters, from last year’s squad that went 21-14 overall, captured the inaugural Big 5 Classic title and earned a NIT bid.
• Saint Joseph’s senior guard Erik Reynolds II was named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference First Team, sophomore guard Xzayvier Brown was selected to the A-10 Preseason All-Conference Second Team and junior forward Rasheer Fleming was named to the A-10 Preseason All-Conference Third Team.
• Reynolds II earned A-10 Preseason All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive year.
• Reynolds II is coming off a stellar junior season in which he was named to the A-10 All-Conference First Team, A-10 All-Championship Team, and NABC All-District 4 First Team.
• The three-year starter averaged 17.3 points per contest in 2023-24 and ranked ninth in the nation in made three-pointers with 112 – the second most in a single season on Hawk Hill – and 50th in free throw percentage (.871).
• Reynolds II enters the 2024-25 season 15th all-time in scoring (1,616 points) and fifth in three-pointers (261) in program history.
• Brown made an immediate impact on Hawk Hill in 2023-24, garnering both A-10 Rookie of the Year and Big 5 Rookie of the Year honors, to go with A-10 All-Rookie Team and All-Big 5 Second Team recognitions.
• Brown led the Hawks in steals (62), ranking second in scoring (12.7 points per game) and third in assists (117) as a freshman.
• The Philadelphia native elevated his production during conference play, averaging 14.9 points per contest.
• Brown capped his rookie campaign third in the A-10 in steals per game (1.77), 14th in three-pointers per game (1.97) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.75), and 24th in scoring (12.7 ppg).
• Fleming had a breakout campaign last year as he elevated his game across the board as he jumped from 5.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game as a rookie to 10.7 points and 7.4 rebounds this year.
• Starting all 35 games in 2023-24, Fleming led the Hawks in rebounding (7.4 rpg) and field goal percentage (.528), Fleming’s defense shined through as he tied for eighth in the Atlantic 10 in blocked shots with 55.
