Former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh once again launched a fiery verbal attack on MS Dhoni just days after it was announced that a biopic would be made on Yuvraj Singh, who is widely regarded among the finest cricketers to play for India.

Yuvraj and Dhoni are among the two greatest middle-order batters in white-ball cricket history and shared numerous memorable partnerships together for the Men in Blue. In fact, Yuvraj and Dhoni were on the crease when the winning runs were scored in the 2011 Cricket World Cup final as India ended a 28-year drought to win the mega event.

Yuvraj was the star performer for India in both the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup as the Men in Blue lifted the trophies under Dhoni’s captaincy. However, Yuvraj’s life took an unfortunate turn after the mega event, as he was diagnosed with cancer just months after the memorable night in Mumbai. Although Yuvraj made a comeback and played for India in the 2012, 2014, and 2016 T20 World Cup as well as the 2017 Champions Trophy, he struggled to cement his spot in the side again and was regularly in and out of the side till his retirement in 2019.

Yograj has frequently blamed Dhoni for Yuvraj being removed from the team and made some shocking claims in the past that have been widely criticised. However, the former India cricketer launched a fresh attack on the 43-year-old and claimed he destroyed Yuvraj’s life. Yograj went onto say that Yuvraj deserved a Bharat Ratna award.

“I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son, everything is coming out now; it can never be forgiven in life. I have never done two things in life – first, I have never forgiven anybody who has done wrong for me, and second, I have never hugged them in my life, be it my family members or my kids,” said Yograj on an interaction on the Zee Switch Youtube channel.

“That man (MS Dhoni) has destroyed the life of my son, who could have played four to five years more. I dare everyone to give birth to a son like Yuvraj. Even Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have said in the past that there won’t be another Yuvraj Singh. India should award him the Bharat Ratna for playing with cancer and winning the World Cup for the country,” Yograj added.

Yuvraj missed out on the Indian squad for both the 2015 and 2019 World Cup and announced his retirement in June 2019. His last appearance for India was in 2017. Overall, the star all-rounder played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is. Yograj himself played 1 Test and 6 ODIs for India.
