DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women’s basketball program has announced its 2024-25 schedule, a slate that will feature 11 home games and six contests against Power 5 schools.
Back-to-back road games will kick off the campaign. The Eagles will open on Monday, Nov. 4, at Georgia, before heading to Clemson, S.C., on Thursday, Nov. 7 to square off against Clemson.
Saturday, Nov. 9 will see the Eagles play their home opener, taking on Wofford, before welcoming Chattanooga to McDougald-McLendon Arena on Monday, Nov. 11.
From there, N.C. Central will be on the road for six straight games.
That stretch will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 13 against Charleston in Charleston, S.C., before the Eagles head to Tallahassee, Fla., to take on Florida State on Monday, Nov. 18. From there, N.C. Central will head to Vermillion, S.D., to take on South Dakota on Thursday, Nov. 21, before returning to the Tar Heel State to face North Carolina A&T (Monday, Nov. 25) and North Carolina (Friday, Nov. 29).
The road stretch will end on Sunday, Dec. 1 in Baton Rouge, La., against LSU.
N.C. Central will return home on Wednesday, Dec. 11 to take on Presbyterian, before traveling to Knoxville, Tenn., on Saturday, Dec. 14 to face Tennessee. A Friday, Dec. 20 tilt at Winthrop will mark the Eagles’ last non-conference road game, before they return home on Thursday, Dec. 30 for their non-conference finale against Furman.
Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play will again feature Saturday and Monday match-ups for much of January and February.
MEAC play will begin on the road for the Eagles, who head to Baltimore, Md., to face Coppin State on Jan. 4 and Morgan State on Jan. 6. Three straight home games follow: Maryland Eastern Shore (Jan. 11), Delaware State (Jan. 13) and South Carolina State (Jan. 25).
The Eagles will kick off February with road games against Howard (Feb. 1) and defending MEAC champion Norfolk State (Feb. 3), before returning home on Feb. 15 and 17 to take on Coppin State and Morgan State.
Feb. 22 and 24 will see the Eagles hit the road to take on Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware State, respectively, before one last homestand awaits on March 1 and 3 against Howard and Norfolk State.
The regular-season finale will be Thursday, March 6 at South Carolina State.
The 2025 MEAC Basketball Tournament will again be held at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va., March 12-15.
The Eagles will be entering their second season with Terrence Baxter at the helm.
