SOUTHAVEN — Ole Miss basketball led by as many as 24 points and never trailed Colorado State, beating the Rams 84-69 on Saturday at Landers Center to remain undefeated.

The Rebels’ frontcourt transfer tandem of Mikeal Brown-Jones and Malik Dia (Ensworth, Nashville) combined for 25 points, while four others finished with nine points or more to power the de facto home team’s offense. But it was Jaylen Murray who brought it home for Ole Miss (4-0) with a big second-half performance.

The former Saint Peter’s guard scored 11 of his 16 points after halftime and adding four assists and a pair of rebounds in the final 20 minutes, going 2-for-3 from the field and 6 for 6 at the free throw line. His 3-pointer with 5:14 to play extended the Rebels’ lead back to double digits (70-58) after the Rams (3-1) had clawed their way back into it.

The Rebels shot 51% from the field against Colorado State, their best mark of the young season.

Saturday’s game marked the sixth time Ole Miss has played a game in Southaven and the first since Dec. 22, 2014. The Rebels are now 5-1 all-time at Landers Center.

Ole Miss is set to host Oral Roberts on Thursday (7 p.m. CT, SEC Network+).

In his first season at Ole Miss, Mikeal Brown-Jones came into Saturday’s game against Colorado State averaging just 2.0 points per game. But the former UNC Greensboro and VCU big man broke out in Southaven. With 12:17 left in the game, Brown-Jones has 13 points (4-of-5 shooting) in 10 minutes of action.

Eight different Rebels scored in the first half against Colorado State, helping Ole Miss take a 45-26 lead into halftime. Big men Malik Dia and Mikeal Brown-Jones have 9 points apiece for the Rebels.
