Omaha, the only No. 4 seed to win a first-round game in the NCAA softball tournament regionals, is one win from the super regionals.
UNO scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the lead as the Mavs went on to a 3-2 win over Washington at the Columbia Regional.
Omaha will play in the championship game at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Washington jumped to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first with a two-out rally. Alana Johnson drove in both runs with a double.
But after having two baserunners through the first three innings, UNO stormed ahead in the fourth.
Sydney Thomason reached on an error to start the fourth and Alex Olson drew a walk. After they advanced on a wild pitch, catcher Sydney Ross, the team’s RBI leader, doubled to left to tie the score. The next batter, Ava Rongisch, singled to right center to score Ross.
Rongisch hit the game-deciding two-run home run in Friday’s 3-1 victory over Missouri.
After that, ace Kamryn Meyer allowed one baserunner over the last three innings, including retiring the last eight batters to improve to 27-4 on the season.
Meyer threw a four-hitter with five strikeouts.
