MARIETTA — The Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash after a two-vehicle accident on Ohio 7 Wednesday morning.

A release from the patrol office said the accident occurred at approximately 8:25 a.m. at the intersection of Veto Road in Warren Township.

It said a 2006 Chevrolet box truck, driven by Lester Bowes, 60, of Marietta, was southbound on Ohio 7 when it collided with a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Tammy Bauerbach, 49, of Waterford. The release said Bauerbach sustained fatal injuries from the crash while Bowes had minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.

The OSHP was assisted on the scene by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Warren Volunteer Fire Department, Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department and Shea’s Towing.
