Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Chelsea remain interested in Victor Osimhen, although Galatasaray are ‘seriously’ considering signing the striker permanently in January and would even spend less than the Blues.
Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray, and his release clause at Napoli has been lowered to €75m for the summer of 2025.
However, Corriere dello Sport claims that the Nigeria international could already leave in January for a slightly higher fee, €81m, which is not valid for Serie A clubs.
Osimhen January signing cheaper for Galatasaray than Chelsea
According to the report, Chelsea remain interested in Osimhen, but Galatasaray are also monitoring the situation.
Last month, the club’s vice president said that Gala would not part ways with Osimhen in January, adding that they’d work to keep the player beyond 2025.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Galatasaray are the only club that can sign Osimhen for €75m in the January transfer window, given that the extra €6m is a compensation they’d get if Osimhen goes elsewhere in January.
Rai Sport was the first to report about Osimhen’s January release clause, which, according to the Italian broadcasters, is set at €90m.
