Pep Guardiola ‘agrees new deal’ with Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has agreed to stay at Manchester City for at least another year, according to Sam Lee of The Athletic.

It had been heavily suggested that the tactician may depart at the end of the current campaign, and those rumours intensified when it was confirmed his right-hand man – Txiki Begiristain – will leave the club at the end of this season.

Should Guardiola sign the extension, it will mean his tenure at the Manchester club will have lasted a decade.

The report suggests there will be an option for an additional year written into the deal.

The news comes after City have struggled on the field of late, having lost their last four games in all competitions before the international break.
