Roma’s Niccolo Pisilli was given the opportunity to make his debut for the senior national team under Luciano Spalletti.
The Giallorossi midfielder came on late in the second half of tonight’s Italy 2-2 Belgium at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
After the match, Pisilli discussed this important moment in his young career.
“Making my debut with the national team is a dream come true,” he told Rai Sport after the game.
“When you start playing football you dream of this moment. Playing here in Rome was exciting because I had people dear to me in the stands.”
“I tried to give my contribution, entering with fear is always worse. It was a delicate moment of the match, I’m happy that we defended the result.”
“Pellegrini? He was sorry for what happened, but he is a great player and the episode does not change who he is.”
