The Belgian Pro League has this season moved to create a hall of fame for the legends of the past years. Today, they announced the top 10 in voting. One of those who made the top 10 was Premier League legend and current Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany. The former Belgian defender was presented with the ceremonial jacket during a training session.
Kompany began his career in Brussels with the famous Anderlecht academy. He came through the youth systems at the club before his senior debut during the 2003/2004 season. Over two spells, one as a youngster and another at the end of his career, Kompany made 121 appearances for the Mauves, scoring seven goals. Kompany had the greatest success of his career with Manchester City, where he made over 300 appearances and won multiple trophies.
Kompany then became manager of Anderlecht following his retirement, coming close to winning the domestic cup. He then moved to Burnley and got them promoted to the Premier League, although they were then relegated the following season. He has since been hired by the Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
