PRINCETON, N.J.

– After a thrilling 2023-24 season that saw two teams (Columbia, Princeton) selected to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament for the second time in the past seven years, Princeton has been selected as the league favorite in the 2024-25 Ivy League Women’s Basketball Preseason Poll following a vote by members of the media.

Columbia was picked second as the Lions and Harvard (third) both received more than 100 points. Penn received the coveted fourth and hypothetical last spot in March’s Ivy Madness Tournament while Brown, Yale, Cornell, and Dartmouth rounded out the rest of the standings.

The Tigers received 10 first-place votes for a total of 122 points following another trip to the NCAA Tournament after earning the league’s automatic bid last season. Princeton enters the year fresh off a 2023-24 campaign that saw them earn a 25-5 overall record and a 13-1 record in Ivy play as the Tigers captured their sixth-straight regular season title. Returning for the Tigers is Madison St. Rose, 2023’s Ivy League Rookie of the Year, along with sophomores Skye Belker and Ashley Chea.

The Lions received 110 points and five first-place votes after earning their second-straight Ivy League regular season title. Following a stellar 2023-24 campaign that saw the Lions hold an overall record of 23-7 and 13-1 in Ivy play, Columbia earned its first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Lions return Second Team All-Ivy honorees Cecelia Collins and Kitty Henderson from last year.

The only other team to receive a first-place vote was Harvard as the Crimson garnered 101 points. Harvard finished last season with a 16-12 record overall and a 9-5 record in Ivy play which earned them the third seed in Ivy Madness. Returning for Harvard is First Team All-Ivy guard Harmoni Turner who was recently named to the Becky Hammon Player of the Year Preseason Watch List.
